Indy CDE financed Damien Center’s new three-story, 56,000 square-foot building through $7.95 million in NMTC. Damien Center received an additional $19.75 million in NMTCs from two other CDEs. The new facility will enable Damien Center, the County’s principal nonprofit provider of HIV/AIDS care, to expand and enhance medical and supportive services, including housing a medical clinic, dental clinic, pharmacy, and case management services for the 6,000 individuals, 90% of whom live in poverty, the Center serves and will allow for services for up to 17,000 at full capacity. The project would create 105 quality permanent jobs, 108 construction jobs and can serve more than 15,000 unique (unduplicated) individuals. The project is in a Medically-Underserved Area in the Indy East Promise Zone.
